Allyson Gee - Craft Scotland Project Assistant

What do you do at Craft Scotland?

I help to champion high-quality contemporary craft practice nationally and internationally through the planning, development and delivery of our exhibitions, shows and events.

How do you help Scottish craft or makers?

I ensure that an ever growing and diverse audience have the opportunity to see, make, buy and learn about craft. By building Scottish crafts profile in other regions I help to promote craft as a dynamic and developing industry; providing tangible value to the economy and design innovation.

  1. Managing Lesley Craze Gallery in Clerkenwell, London; working directly with hugely talented makers and Lesley Craze who was a great inspiration.
  2. Coordinating and curating an exhibition of Wendy Ramshaw’s iconic jewellery.
  3. Receiving a Distinction for my Masters research on the National Museum of Scotland’s collection of contemporary jewellery.
