For our last round up of 2014 we bring you a wide range of opportunities for the new year. We are offering two Go & See Trips for makers, one to CRAFT in London and one to NY Now in New York (both opportunities closing this Friday). We are also looking for new Board members, have a vacancy on the Craft Scotland team for a motivated Project Assistant, and invite you to find out what we have in store for the coming year by attending one of our 2015 Roadshows in January and February.
Craft Scotland has commissioned a series of three events called Tales in the Making and teamed up with the Scottish Storytelling Centre to present the events between Christmas and New Year.
At the start of next year Craft Scotland will be back on the road to deliver a series of roadshows across Scotland. Makers are invited to join us in five locations at the end of January and early February.

The National Museum of Scotland will host the second in a series of two Meet Your Maker events on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 2014. Meet Your Maker is part of Craft Scotland's flagship campaign to bring makers at work to the public, and we are bringing the project to its birthplace in this event with the National Museum of Scotland.

The winners of the 2014 Walpole British Luxury Awards were announced on Monday 03 November. The 13th annual Awards, in association with Coutts, celebrate the global strength of the British luxury industry.
London Craft Week, a brand new initiative that positions makers centre stage of the world’s creative capital will open on Wednesday, 6 May 2015. The event will bring together an unparalleled public programme celebrating craftsmanship across the city, where hidden spaces and little-known makers will be revealed alongside celebrated galleries and luxury brands.
SOFA Chicago, the world's premier art fair dedicated to Sculpture, Objects, Functional Art and Design will be opening its doors for the 21st time next week. Thousands of works from nearly 70 galleries will be on show, inlcuding a range of work by Scottish-based makers, not just on Craft Scotland's own stand.
From Friday 24 to Monday 27 October the Haining will showcase 'Haining At Home'; an exhibition of some of the Scottish Border's finest applied arts. To coincide with the exhibition, the Haining will host a Meet Your Maker event offering demonstrations of screen printing, stone carving and wooden spoon making as part this impressive event.
This month's round-up brings you a last-minute opportunity to apply for the Crafts Council's invaluable business support and creative development programme. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday 20 October, and we are delighted to be offering six places for Scottish-based makers.
