At the start of this year Craft Scotland was back on the road delivering a series of roadshows across the country. We have put together a summary of the feedback from the Roadshows, and would like to take this opportunity to let you know how we hope to implement your input into our future plans.
Craft Scotland will take a group of nine selected makers to visit the trade show NY NOW in New York City from 31 January to 4 February 2015. NY NOW, held at the Javits Center twice annually (in January and August) sees 2,800 exhibiting companies showcasing the very best lines across the home, lifestyle and gift spectrum.
Craft Scotland took a group of selected makers to visit the annual trade show CRAFT in London from 11 to 13 January. CRAFT is one of Clarion Events' spring events, running alongside Home and Top Drawer. Housed in its own specially designed space, CRAFT is home to over 100 contemporary makers, each selected by an advisory panel.
We look back over a whirlwind year for Craft Scotland, throughout which we have greatly enjoyed working with all the talented makers involved in our projects, our partners and all those enthusiastic about craft in Scotland.
Craft Scotland has commissioned a series of three events called Tales in the Making and teamed up with the Scottish Storytelling Centre to present the events between Christmas and New Year.
