I know Dumfries and Galloway well, having in-laws who live there; but have never yet managed to visit during Spring Fling, Scotland's premier art and craft open studios event. With so many makers taking part this year, I decided I really could not miss it.

I have just returned from three packed days in London, taking in COLLECT at the Saatchi Gallery and Handmade in Britain at Chelsea Old Town Hall. I also visited a number of galleries and discovered more craft places along the way.
Elin's studio is located in Stirling, which can easily be reached from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Elin runs a variety of glassblowing courses, from short taster sessions to half and full day workshops.
Tantallan Studios are located near North Berwick, East Lothian. Alongside unique holiday accommodation, Tantallon Studios also offer classes in ceramics and design and the adjacent shop is open from 10-4pm daily.
