The London Design Festival is the highlight of the UK design calendar, where the world gathers to celebrate great craft and design. This year, Craft Scotland is involved in a partner exhibition with Etsy and various craft organisations from around the UK. The selling exhibition of cross-disciplinary contemporary craft will run from 24 to 27 September 2015.
Selected via open call, Etsy and the partner organisations will unite over 40 makers from Inverness to Sussex and Belfast to Cardigan in an exhibition to represent craft from the four corners of the country - what ties it all together is the quality of making.
The makers representing Scotland are:
- Julia Smith, ceramics
- Vanessa Bullick, ceramics
- Gavin Burnett, ceramics
- Juli Bolaños-Durman, glass
- Joanne Thompson, jewellery
- Heather McDermott, jewellery
- Heather Shields, textiles
The panel was made up by Sarah Hewitt, Etsy UK, Fiona Logue and Julia Ossenbruegge from Craft Scotland and Andrew Leitch, Creative Scotland. As well as offering the great opportunity to showcase their work at the London Design Festival, all exhibitors will benefit from an accessible programme of business development support from The Design Trust in the lead up to the exhibition.
