About Me

Personal Statement

A Graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Textile Design and Embroidery, followed by a short stint as an Art Teacher and a longer one as a Tutor in Adult Education. This led on to the development of a craft business specialising in cards and pictures for special occasions using a wide variety of textile techniques - hand embroidery, applique, patchwork, hand lettering etc.The business was formed into a partnership with my husband -a Graduate in Illustration - a number of years ago and we work from our home studio. As of 2015 we have also welcomed our daughter, Laura Mysak a successful surface pattern designer, as the third member of our team.
Our work can be seen in many galleries and gift shops throughout Scotland and also online.
I also produce larger pieces for exhibition with particular interest in contemporary canvaswork and textural embroidery. The designs are mainly abstract with the interaction of colours and the contrast of light reflecting and matt surfaces as my prime interest, and a great deal of joy is derived from the slow medium of hand stitchery. Examples of this can be seen at
