Using dye, print, paint and stitch, Gillian Cooper transforms plain fabric into atmospheric installations and art work. Her chosen medium of textiles connects her with women from past generations and links her to the contemporary, exciting world of art textiles.
Following a short career as an accountant, Gillian discovered her love from textiles, graduating from Goldsmiths in 2005 with a degree in textile art. Since then she has been immersed in textiles, exhibiting her work locally and internationally.
In addition, Gillian Cooper runs textile workshops from her home studio and on a freelance basis, including C&G Patchwork and Quilting. She also writes about textiles, primarily for Popular Patchwork and The Quilter.
Gillian is a member of SAQA and the Contemporary Quilt Group
