Jan Milne graduated in Printed Textile Design in 1994 from Glasgow School Of Art and founded the company in 1995 supplying custom printed textiles to architects and interior designers for use in both contract and domestic interiors.
The initial janmilne collection soon established the company's identity of large scale photographic fruit and flower imagery with use of vibrant colour.
This signature style is also applied to digitally printed laminates and to acrylics : this latest material is available as funky nests of tables, wall panels, screen/room dividers and now as dining tables and chairs.
The work of janmilne reflects Jan's lively personality and love of colour.
Her designs are bright and bold yet have a simplicity - a key strength of her designs is the expertise with which colour and placement are combined.
The company soon became recognised by architectural and interior design firms across the world and many prestigious contracts have been commissioned over the years : New York’s Fifth Avenue ‘Genki Sushi’ and various projects with New York’s Rockwellgroup : printed fabrics for the ‘Samba Grill’ restaurant in the Mirage Casino, Las Vegas; Gloria Estefan’s ‘Bongos’ in Miami; fabric for New York’s ‘W Hotels’; ‘Fidelias’ restaurant within the Mohegan Sun Casino, Connecticut where janmilne supplied fabric and vinyl for seating and printed laminates for tabletops.
