Kathryn Williamson is inspired by a sense of personal treasure trove- found objects and fragments of pottery from beach walks around the Fife coast. These little snippets of pattern with their soft muted sea washed colours created feelings of calm and evoked memories of other important snippets of pattern from museum artefacts to pattern from collected or inherited ceramics and fabric. These elements inform Kathryn’s choice of balance, pattern and texture in her jewellery
Pittenweem found beach pebbles, origami papers, acrylic and enamel are among some of the materials she combines with silver textured shapes and forms to recreate feelings of memory and calm for the wearer through use of a subtle blend of colour, harmony and pattern.
Art school trained at Gray's in Aberdeen with over 12 years professional experience in the London jewellery industry, Kathryn moved back to her native Fife in 2000 to start her own jewellery business and to fulfil her ambition to live by the sea.
