Kinsman-Blake Ceramics have been producing handmade pottery and tiles since 1980. Linda has evolved a distinctive style of on-glaze, painted decoration which explores the spontaneity of that medium to the full, covering a wide range of subjects. Birds, fish, flowers and figures predominate, commissions are welcome. All raw materials are processed at the family-run studio workshop where clays, glazes and colours are mixed to our own recipes ensuring a continuity of colour and style. The pots are once fired to 1200°C ensuring that they are hardwearing and robust.
As well as handling the technical side of the pottery Rankin has created a range of hand carved spoons from local hard woods, which are displayed in the pottery’s showroom/gallery alongside the ceramics, with bespoke jewellery from there daughter Robyn who has recently joined them after graduating from Edinburgh College of Art.
