About Me

Personal Statement

Since 1979 I have been producing decorated domestic earthenware including jugs (puzzle jugs), casseroles, bread crocks, mugs, plates, bowls, candlesticks, butter dishes, lamp bases, oil lights, whistles, frost-proof garden ware, chimney pots finials, bread pots - anything is possible.

Alongside this I have also been producing and fitting decorated tiles and murals. Most of these are in private houses (Aga backs, fireplaces, bathrooms). Public work can be seen at the Ryan Centre, Stranraer; Lorburn Centre, Dumfries; Netherton Community Centre, Motherwell. The decoration techniques incorporate sgaffitto (slip scratching), slip trailing (piped clay), brush painted tin glaze (metalic oxides painted on tin glazed surface). Fired in a wood-fired kiln.

Year Established: 1979
