About Me

Personal Statement

I am a textile artist, designer/maker, I work with fabric, collage, paint and stitch, and aim to transform basic raw materials into flowing abstract compositions reflecting my love of the rural landscape and importance of the natural world.

My ‘Studio Quilts’or 'Quiltscapes' as I now call them, have been purchased by many museums in the UK and USA. They are my very special wall hangings, which can take as long as nine, or twelve months to complete. I also occasionally make practical quilts that I label ‘Quiltline’ – these are my designer/maker range, and I also make smaller ‘Stitch Drawings’, which I often frame.

I live in the Scottish Borders, with my husband, the Sculptor, Charles Poulsen. Once a year we hold an OPEN STUDIO exhibition, in early August. In 2015 it will run from 31st July – 3rd August. We make full use of the Steading, where we live and display work inside and out. Each year we invite a guest artist to join us. In 2015 Lizzie Farey will be joining us.
