Learn to hand appliqué leather and create your own Carmen Miranda-themed bag charms or key chains with fashion designer Emily Millichip.

For our fifth year, and the 70th anniversary of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe we are launching an exciting programme of workshops which will run throughout the Summer Show.

For this workshop, you will hand appliqué leather to assemble your own combination of red lips and tropical fruits into boldly colourful adornments for your accessories. Tutti frutti!

Emily Millichip is an Edinburgh-based fashion designer, who makes vibrant clothes and accessories with a vintage twist. Emily is known for her use of colourful prints and textiles, often sourced on her travels from across the world. Her inspirations include the tropics, Carmen Miranda, and good girls gone bad. Her design philosophy is to bring mischief and fun into the everyday. Moving away from what is traditionally regarded as 'Scottish Design', Emily considers her work part of the global design conversation. She has carved her own career path, eschewing the traditional fashion calendar for a more anarchic approach to design and making.

All materials provided. Refreshments provided.

This workshop will run from 1.30pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 20 August 2017.

Book your tickets via the Edinburgh Festival Fringe website.
